IDENTITY CHALLENGE
For this student project, I was tasked with one of the most difficult things to do as a designer, and as a person, branding myself. I branded myself as being a vibrant and colorful soul and an elegant idealist. I characterize myself as someone who likes to experiment, yet likes to be given a sort of system. I developed a brand that was both lively yet elegant. Part of this project included the development of the mark and color palette defined by the personality of my brand. Approaching this challenge, I drew inspiration from colors, places, and topics that also embody the person and designer I am.
PROCESS
Brainstorming the project, I compiled a mood board that showed color, vividness, and experimentation while keeping within a structure. I wanted to show visuals that were colorful and more artsy, but also having a system.
In my mark studies, I began with hand sketches and experimented with various typefaces to produce a mark with spark and charisma while keeping it systematic and elegant. I did two rounds of studies till I found a few that spoke to my brand before choosing the final.
The colors for my brand were inspired by the colors in nature and meant to be bright yet elegant enough to match my colorful soul.
