The Plectrum Concert Series is a fictional music festival celebrating the raw, honest, and poetic sound of alternative and acoustic music. It comes in conjunction with the zine, Plectrum, and is held over 4 days with the participation of three artists, all featured in the zine.
The festival’s brand identity uses geometric shapes such as half circles, quarter circles, triangles, and squares to create new, unique shapes to reflect the power and beauty of using simple elements in alt and acoustic music to produce new, deep, raw sounds. The identity also features a color palette that sets the mood for this type of music with colors that contrast.
what's in a name?
Those familiar with the instrument know “plectrum” is the fancy word to call a guitar pick. Although most often focus on the main instrument itself, I focused on the small tool used to produce dozens of raw, new tunes.
